In simple words, blockchain is a public ledger where all committed transactions are stored in a list of blocks that is immutable and verifiable. This course explores the fundamentals of blockchain technology and its applications. Students will learn about cryptography, P2P network and blockchain protocol that are indispensable parts of blockchain technology. Students will also learn about cryptocurrencies, hashing, validation and consensus model, smart contacts, public and private blockchain, proof of work and proof of stake. We will also discuss about relationships among technology, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), cyber security, and digital transformation. The course will also have practical cases, assignments, videos, and guest speakers from the industry. By the end of the course, students will understand working of blockchain, its applications in various industries and its expected impact on business and society.
